About Shriya
Shriya Bharadwaz (she/ her) is a lover of theatre, literature, and music. She was born in Fairfax, Virginia, but moved to Suwanee, Georgia at 12 years old. From an early age, her imagination overflowed with melodies and images of Bollywood actresses on shimmering sets. She was an eccentric child and began as a theatre performer without even realizing it. Her parents would send her as entertainment to the living room when they had guests where she would talk, sing, and dance.
Years later, in high school, her days consisted of composing poems, learning lines and singing loud enough to bother her siblings as they tried to sleep. So although one could say Shriya first started musical theatre in the 7th grade with her starring role as a vase in Beauty and The Beast Jr., she really has been experiencing the joy of theatre her whole life.
She will be graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory in May 2026.
Besides theatre, Shriya has a passion for writing prose poetry and short fiction which she hopes to continue to nurture. One of her biggest goals for the next year is to have composed and published a finished collection of poetry. She is also a vegetarian and avid lover of animals. She loves cooking for herself and for her loved ones. In her free time she loves to read, paint, watch films, and put together ridiculous impractical outfits that she can only realistically wear in the comfort of her bedroom runway!
